The lineup of professional musicians includes Randy Brecker, Ada Rovatti, Gunnar Mossblad, Kevin MacConnell, Denis DiBlasio, Jim McFalls, Steve Rudolph, David Cullen, Sean Kennedy and Eddie Severn hosting performance critiques, workshops and classes.
The festival will conclude with a 3:30 p.m. public performance by the Berks HS All-County Jazz Band, directed by Ken Brader.

- For forty-two years the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale have been pioneers on the concert stage.
Others have followed, but no one can match the unprecedented sound of the 120 members that make up this area's finest musical ensemble.
Our spring concert on June 13, 2010 at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 1904 Walnut Street, Rittenhouse Square, will be no different.
The Program:
During the two-hour concert extravaganza with orchestra, music director Jeffrey R. Smith will lead the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale through a dazzling parade of America's most popular songs weaving folk, jazz, spirituals, patriotic and musical theatre.
Audience members will find themselves swaying, toe-tapping and probably even humming a few bars of familiar tunes, especially during the George M. Cohan medley arranged by Smith. Favorites include You're a Grand Old Flag, Give My Regards to Broadway, Harrigan and Yankee Doodle Boy.
This concert marks the premiere of a spiritually moving piece, Into the Light, written by Robert S. Cohen specifically for the cherubic voices of the choir. The audience will marvel as performing choir members, using only nonsensical syllables, transcend time on a celestial musical journey through the heavenly gates.
Other notable pieces include African American spirituals Ah Been In De Storm and Amen, I'll Be There as performed by the Jackson Five and an a cappella arrangement of the John Philip Sousa march, Stars and Stripes Forever.

Tim performs and does clinics throughout the world, giving private instruction in New York City and from his home studio in Reading, Pennsylvania. He teaches jazz saxophone at the New School University in New York City, and is also a saxophone instructor at Long Island University / Brooklyn campus.  This is sure to be an amazing evening of music as the band performs a wide array of Kenton’s dazzling music. Born on December 15, 1911, Stan Kenton played in various dance bands in the 1930’s. In 1941 he formed his own group, and eventually went on to be one of the most famous and controversial band leaders of the 20th century. His music went far beyond the scope of the typical big bands of the day. He constantly experimented with the sound of the band, incorporating jazz, swing, classical and Latin concepts. His compositions and arrangements, as well as those of Pete Rugolo, Johnny Richards, Bill Holman, Bill Russo and others, led the band to break new ground in jazz well into the 1970’s.
The City Rhythm Orchestra is excited about presenting this music and has obtained the original arrangements of many Kenton classics like Artistry in Rhythm,” “Eager Beaver,” “Peanut Vendor” and others. They will also feature his more extensive works such as “Concerto to End All Concertos” and music from the “Cuban Fire” album. The Kenton sound requires a very large ensemble and City Rhythm will include over 20 musicians for this concert.

The Colonial Theatre History:
Opened in 1903, the Colonial is the last surviving of four theatres once existing in the borough and the only theatre of its kind[vague] in Chester County. The Colonial was first home to live stage shows, vaudeville acts and musicals. Entertainers such as Harry Houdini and Mary Pickford performed there and the first stage show, The Beauty Doctor, starred Fred E. Wright.
The Colonial was featured in the classic science fiction movie The Blob (1958), filmed in and around Phoenixville, Downingtown, Chester Springs and Royersford.

Rockin' Docs for Diabetes Cure II, the 2nd annual benefit concert/fundraising event, will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2012, at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA, from 1:30 PM to 5 PM and is open to all ages.
All profits will benefit the JDRF. The concert will feature five established local rock bands composed predominantly of doctor-musicians from several large hospital centers in the Philadelphia area (including Abington Memorial Hospital, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Doylestown Hospital, and Einstein Medical Center).
Andre Gardner, WMGK Afternoon Drive On-Air Personality and host of Breakfast with the Beatles, will once again emcee the event.
Our inaugural event held this past August at the Electric Factory was a huge success, raising $24,000 for JDRF. The event was featured on CBS Philly, NBC Philadelphia, WPVI (ABC), WMGK radio, as well as in the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Jewish Exponent, and several other local newspapers.
Rockin’ Docs was conceived and created by Kenneth Einhorn M.D (on right). and Jeremy Jaffe M.D. (on left - himself diagnosed with type 1 diabetes over 20 years ago), both of whom are fathers of children with type 1 diabetes. Their goal is that no family should ever have to deal with the pain and anxiety in learning a loved one has developed diabetes. And no one should ever have to carry the heavy burden of this disease throughout their lifetime.

- HICKORY BRASS TO FEATURE THE MUSIC OF COMPOSER JOHN WILLIAMS ON "INTERNATIONAL STAR WARS DAY"
May 4th has become widely recognized as "International Star Wars Day" (May the fourth be with you). In honor of this classic movie, and it's iconic music, the six piece brass and percussion ensemble, The Hickory Brass will present a concert featuring the music of John Williams on Saturday, May 4th 2013 at Paoli Presbyterian Church. Also featured in the program will be music from a wide range of composers including Mozart, Rossini, Scott Joplin and Stevie Wonder.
Admission to this family friendly concert is free.

Within the band structure of jazz, world-beat, R&B and a special musical nod to the essence of jam bands, give this unit musical scope and emotional power -- not to mention the commercial appeal -- expanding the repertoire beyond labels to embrace works that redefines ethereal grooves of the 1960s.
Price is a musician who lives locally but plays globally. He travels the world playing jazz and has had the good fortune to have bands of his own featuring world-class players such as Lew Tabackin, Bennie Green, Carl Allen, Ray Drummond, Rachel Z, Richie Cole, Stanton Moore, and Bill Goodwin.Price also has been a special guest with Grateful Dead member Bob Weir's RATDOG.When he is not performing or teaching, Price keeps busy writing about jazz and playing the saxophone. He has authored three books published through Hal Leonard.
His also writes a weekly blog for Rico Reeds. Houston Person, Jay Migliori and Sean Kennedy, featuring Yellowjackets saxophonist Bob Mintzer, have recorded music written by Price, who also teaches at the New School University in New York City. He has been part of the jazz education department for over a decade.
Dutch and contemporary sax star Candy Dulfer refers to Price as her mentor.
